Letters from Tattvam isn't about products. It's about paying closer attention to the ordinary things that shape a life and writing them down, honestly.

There is a particular kind of letter that asks nothing of you. It doesn't need a reply by evening. It isn't trying to sell you something before you've finished the first line. It simply arrives because someone thought you might want to hear from them.

That is the kind of writing we hope to do here.

We're calling this Letters from Tattvam, and we'd like to be honest about what it is not. It is not a place where we'll tell you a root vegetable is secretly miraculous, or that one cream will change your skin overnight, or that a cup of tea can undo the effects of a hard week. We don't think conscious living needs that kind of exaggeration. If anything, it needs the opposite, a little more patience, a little more attention to the things we already do every day without noticing.

On the name

Tattvam comes from the Sanskrit tattva — a word used across Indian philosophical traditions to describe the essential nature of a thing, sometimes translated as its "thatness," the truth of something once you look past its surface. Philosophers have used it to ask enormous questions about the nature of reality itself. We're using it for something far smaller: the belief that a cup of tea, a spoonful of ghee, or a jar of cream can be made honestly, from ingredients whose nature we actually understand, without needing to dress them up as more than they are.

That, to us, is close to what conscious living means. Not asceticism. Not a rigid set of rules. Just a willingness to ask what something really is before we bring it into our homes.

What you'll find here

Some letters will be about mornings — the small negotiations we make with ourselves before the day gets loud, and the teas, rituals and quiet routines that shape how we begin. Others will be about skin, and the slower, older traditions of Indian skincare that existed long before anyone had heard of a ten-step routine. We'll write from the pantry, too — about ghee, honey and the ingredients that have fed Indian households for generations, often without needing a marketing campaign to prove their worth.

We'll also write about roots: the people, places, farms and near-forgotten practices behind what we consume, because very little of what fills our homes arrives without a human story attached to it somewhere. And every so often, we'll simply write from inside Tattvam itself — the questions we're still working through, the things we got wrong before we got them right.

An invitation

We're not going to ask you to join a movement. We'd simply like to suggest something smaller: read one letter, when you have a few unhurried minutes — with your morning tea, perhaps, or in the last quiet stretch before sleep. If something in it stays with you, that's enough. If it sends you looking a little more closely at what's already sitting in your kitchen or on your shelf, even better.

We're glad you're here for the first one. There will be more.
